The Advocacy Committees are the working groups that research and address civic issues while working with the City of Pasadena and its residents.
The Standing Committees are responsible for all internal operations of the WPRA.

WPRA Committee Responsibilities
Land Use and Planning – an Advocacy committee
Addresses issues pertaining to planning, design, and preservation as they affect the quality of life in west Pasadena neighborhoods.
Open Space and Conservation
Protects parks and wild spaces throughout Pasadena and the Arroyo Seco.
Education
Tracks educational issues relating to Pasadena with a particular focus on issues facing public schools within WPRA’s service area boundaries.
Public Safety
Monitors and helps facilitate the well-being and security of the WPRA community, with a focus on Arroyo Seco protection, emergency preparedness and response, reducing crime, traffic safety, environmental safety, and homelessness.
Standing Committees
Membership
Tracks the membership roster and recruit new members and directors. Accept and review all applications for Affiliate and Business Affiliate membership and submit the Committee’s recommendations to the Board for approval.
Social Function Management
Coordinates planning of board meeting receptions, seasonal parties, and annual meetings.
Nominations
Selects and nominates qualified candidates to serve on the Board.
Advisory Council
A select group of “past directors and other persons” lends expertise on pertinent issues.
