WPRA Committees

All officers and Board members serve on the organization’s advocacy and standing committees.

The Advocacy Committees are the working groups that research and address civic issues while working with the City of Pasadena and its residents.

The Standing Committees are responsible for all internal operations of the WPRA.

WPRA Committee Responsibilities

Advocacy Committees

Land Use and Planning – an Advocacy committee

Addresses issues pertaining to planning, design, and preservation as they affect the quality of life in West Pasadena neighborhoods.

Open Space and Conservation

Protects parks and wild spaces running through and surrounding Pasadena and the Arroyo.

Education

Tracks educational issues relating to Pasadena with a particular focus on issues facing schools within WPRA’s geographical boundaries. 

Rose Bowl & Arroyo

Ensures that Rose Bowl and Arroyo improvements, activities and events have minimum adverse impacts on our neighborhoods.


Standing Committees

Membership

Tracks the membership roster and recruit new members and directors. Accept and review all applications for Affiliate and Business Affiliate membership and submit the Committee’s recommendations to the Board for approval.

Social Function Management

Coordinates planning of board meeting reception, Fall Party (every other year), and Annual Meeting.

Nominations

Selects and nominates qualified candidates to serve on the Board. 

Advisory Council

A select group of “past directors and other persons” lends expertise on pertinent issues.

The WPRA service area is bounded on the north by Colorado Boulevard, on the east by Fair Oaks Avenue and on the south and west by the city limits.
All WPRA activities are funded through membership dues and contributions. The WPRA receives no public funding and has no paid employees. Since the WPRA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation, contributions and donations are fully deductible to the extent permitted by law.
